Alex Mattraw is the author of three poetry collections. A Bay Area native, she has dedicated the last two decades to making and sharing supportive spaces with other writers and artists. She believes the energy of sustained and collaborative creative practice can be an agent of hope in the face of climate change and eroding democracy. Her poems and reviews have been featured in The Brooklyn Rail, Jacket2, Lana Turner, The Poetry Project, Posit, and VOLT. An educator with over two decades of experience, Alex studied literature at University of California at Los Angeles (BA), University of Chicago (MA), and University of San Francisco (MFA, poetry). The founder and curator of the reading series Lone Glen, now in its thirteenth year, Alex is available for manuscript consulting, writing coaching, publicity support, and generative writing workshops.
